SILLY FLOWERS AND FRIENDS   When I pick up my paint brush, I never have a clue what will end up on the canvas.  All of my paintings in this group are intuitively painted.

THE SHADOW PEOPLE.  Although this collection was painted a couple of years ago and hidden away in my guest suite, it was recently named by a friend of mine who is a well-known jewelry artisan. 

 While she was visiting, she saw these paintings and told me she loved:  "The Shadow People".  I knew exactly which paintings she was referring to.   

And the name stuck.  It was perfect.   Each painting also has a bit of a story to its name which I will gladly share with you if you ask.  Once again, these were all painted intuitively without any plan or expectations. 

Mixed Media and Collage     One of my students told me that this first group of paintings below reminded her of a suburban neighborhood.   Thus, that became the inspiration for the Title to which I had to add some playfulness to.   Hence they were each named after streets where I grew up in the suburbs of  Baltimore, MD.    

THE HAPPY NONCONFORMINST  also known as "Born To Stand Out"   Named after some of my most memorable nonconforming friends throughout my life. 

WATERCOLORS     My watercolor landscapes are not painted with traditional brushes or brush strokes, which is why I have added the words: "Sans Pinceau" (without brushes)  to their description.  

With this technique, the painter gives most of the control over to the paint.   The less the painter intervenes the better.
